The third Contra Pop Festival took place in August 2018 on the beach at Ramsgate, Kent (UK), and encompassed live performances from artists working at the intersection between pop and experimental music. This compilation includes several tracks recorded live at Contra Pop, combined with a selection of previously (un)released tracks by festival artists. We are delighted that every live act which performed at Contra Pop 2018 is represented here, and we would like to thank the artists and their labels for embracing the project.

Recorded in a hookah bar in an alternate universe which inexplicably has the same version of Mark Stewart. The Planeswalker recites his favorite words - which are 'fetid' and 'banal' - while the boys in the band weave their dub cocoon. By the time the album has ended, the poison has set in and you can no longer move. David Molnar
